About the course
A 200 hour intensive residential Yoga Teacher Training course in Kerala, India - jointly offered by the International Vasishta Yoga Research Foundation in partnership with Maha Shanti Yoga, a Registered Yoga School (RYS 200) with the Yoga Alliance.
Combining the best from the East and West, this course integrates the authentic knowledge of classical yoga from its traditional roots in India with the experience of its wider application within a contemporary international setting.
Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be eligible to apply for registration with the Yoga Alliance.
Graduates will also be offered a unique opportunity as new teachers to gain valuable and highly sought-after teaching experience by participating in our new Graduate Teaching Practice Programme which is run in partnership with Yoga retreat Villa De Zoysa in Sri Lanka.

Teaching Method and Schedule
Traditional gurukula teaching system - living and studying together in the ashram with teachers / students
4 week course offered in 2 modules (14 days each)
Self practice and study time between modules, including regular contact with course teachers
Module 1: 25 March to 7 April 2018
Foundation training in Asanas, Pranayama, Meditation, Shatkarmas, Mudras & Bandhas, Yoga Anatomy and Physiology, Yoga philosophy and introduction to key Yoga texts, Mantras and Ayurveda principles for yoga
Module 2: 25 March to 7 April 2019
Teaching methodology, teaching principles, applied teaching practice, class planning and sequencing, benefits and contraindications of asanas, modifications and adjustments, First Aid for Yoga Teachers, Yoga teaching ethics and business elements
